Never thought I'd see the day that there was such a thing as a " sleeper GTO "...but now there is...siighhh

i feel you on the soft launch my car with full exhuast and a few other options broke a rear cv shaft under a hard launch with slicks (i have upgraded my entire rear diff with billet output shafts and new CV shafts)

I have decided that I will be changing to a solid axle in the future. M6 will launch better if you use the pedders track kit suspension setup, but you'll still need bmr axles. Good luck. I will be watching for posts.

LOL That GTO is MUCH lighter, running some serious nitrous, massive slicks, and set up to launch. It was awesome to watch.

well, for that MPH, the Et's showed be around 10.60 or so...but it still moves!

Exactly, but if I would have launched it hard I would have broken something in the differential. It still has stock axles and differential. In fact after this trip to the strip I pulled the differential apart to install 3.08 gears and the axle stubs were twisted. Anyhow these GTO's don't launch worth a crap with the M6's. This year is going to be interesting with the boost turned up.

well, maybe you should run a auto. one of my buds have a 408 L92 stroker with a T400 in a 99Z28. runs in the low 10's and high 9's. its hard to run fast in those M6's...

I have several freinds and customers that have done the same thing and the swap with all else equal netted an average .75 second ET imporvement. The M6 sucks for sure at the strip in these GTO's, but shines when your goal is to run 200 plus flat out.
