...with special thanks to Jacqueline Pallardy and Michael Freddoso.
Spring Break, 2007. All my friends went to Puerto Rico. I went to Sweetwater, Texas. This is what I have to show for it! I heard about this for the first time in Bangalore, India, from Prem Koshy. I thought he was kidding, but now I know he was not. This was one of the most difficult pieces I have filmed. It involved technical, physical and emotional challenges... I did the best I could...

  • As the producer of this video Id like to reiterate that the video was NOT intended to pass judgement on the people in this video or on the state of Texas. It is simply an attempt to shed light on a situation. It is my hope that through awareness and education we humans can learn to co-exist with the other creatures in our environment. Please know that your hurtful comments and foul language do not help anyone. Thank you for viewing the video... and "be the change that you want to see".

  • Okay, first of all, I live in Texas. The VAST majority of people in this state, whether they hate snakes or not, view this is as a sick and twisted way of keeping "the population under control." Then again, I have no idea where Sweetwater is and I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. West Texas is the area responsible for furthering redneck stereotypes while East Texas is mostly metropolitan. Calling Texas a backwater state is a very misguided and ill-educated generalization.

  • unbelievably depraved. These sick bastards should go hang themselves.

  • These events are barbaric and disgusting. I have worked with and kept venomous snakes since the mid 1980's. I have also been a professional zoo keeper. There is no justification for these events. These slaughter festivals began and are continued out of fear and lack of education. There are now national groups, including renowned biologists that are banding together to pass legislation to end these events. Lets hope it is sooner than later.

  • Inbred nation...

  • Population in check? The population is dwindling. I can't watch this Im trying not to use explicts I'm so pissed. Please stop this. It's horrible, and evil. Respect all Gods creatures.

  • Rattlesnake round ups are endangered snake genocides. Horrible. I hope you can change and see the evil in these mass murder events

  • @rarrokla good for you...
