Na I dont think Conrad was right for the role, he could have lost weight. if they would have said lose 30 pounds and you land the lead on the TV version of Gunsmoke, he would have lost that weight in a month or two.

I was 8 yrs old when Gunsmoke went off the air (after a 20 yr run!!) I loved Amanda Blake then and I love her still today!!
