Like all your stuff , I know they is a harmony note in there and I think one guitarist plays it at the same time.

To my ear it is the 3rd note of the scale, but it may have one 5th note in the harmony .

I am sure you know this already not complaining try to be explaining.

Harder than playing.

This is a great song, people love it , I have played this song in many countries they may not speak English but they know CCR.

@steveo27545 Yeah thanks I had a student that wanted a reference video so here it is. I think you're hearing the bass playing the lower octave, then once the chords come in it sounds like a harmony.
