First Axel gameplay that came with ReRiplai. Video takes place in Twilight town With Roxas (player controlled) and Axel (NPCC). Extra Info: As you may know, the DS has limits in regards to 3D games. It can do decent 3D as seen in this game, but it has a limitation where only a few character models can appear on screen at once without slowdown. This is common in many games for the DS. I've seen it in Lego Star Wars, Final Fantasy 3 DS, and other 3D games. Final Fantasy 4 got around this limitation and adding in more battle models by making the action more choppy in battle. But that was a turn based RPG. This is an action RPG, and speed is essential with limited slowdown.

Several hands-on previews have noted the lack of enemies onscreen in multiplayer. Multiplayer supports up to 4 players at once. The impressions noted that there's rarely ever more than 3 enemies onscreen at once in the multiplayer. I assume putting more would create severe slowdown, likely not helped by the wireless transfer rate.

And in this new video with Xaldin, 5 heartless appear when the Tension Rising theme begins.

Like I said, this is technical, but I guess important to gameplay since it relates to the amount of action going on at once. I've figured this out:

There can be a general average of no more than 7 characters onscreen at once. This includes playable characters and enemies.

In single player mode, you play as Roxas and an OrgXIII partner. You will likely see a maximum of 5 enemies onscreen at once. That's 2 characters and 5 enemies.

There may also be certain situations where you play as Roxas alone. That's speculation, but in cases like that, there could probably be 6 enemies on screen at once.

In multiplayer, we've seen you can have a team of 4 characters. Figuring that in, there will probably be a maximum of 3 enemies on screen at once. The media impressions say that the lack of enemies was masked by making them more difficult to defeat.

  • i dont think the combos have been unlocked yet man

  • Don't worry, it tries to mimic the controls for KHII as closely as possible. Touch screen is used to rotate the camera quickly.

  • @zaqareemalcolm

I guess so. Watch some gameplay from The Warriors, that's my kind of helper lol

  • @anythingnew But the AI's in Days are pretty helpful.

For one thing, you don't have to install Potions on them. They automatically heal you when HP is at low

  • @zaqareemalcolm

Maybe it's fun for you, but I like my games with AIs and helpers.

  • @zaqareemalcolm

But Aqua make it all okay....

  • @anythingnew Oh, and BBS is also Single Player most of the time.

  • @anythingnew How would you know?

You never played the game. I have.

That SUCKS. From a series like Kingdom Hearts where at the least you would have TWO AI's to back you up, but in this case - one to zero help? There are so few games that let you get multiple party members that are not turn based, such as Final Fantasy, which I do fine fun, but they do not incorporate real time combat and TRUE teamwork like Dynasty Warriors, The Warriors, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, or even the Rockstars series games.
