  • I hate to say it, but what helped Oblivion get popular more than any LOTR movie was that it was the first and best RPG released on the then new Xbox 360 & PS3. Plus it used PS3.0 video cards unlike any other game for PCs. It harnessed the full power of the now current gen consoles and PC, and people were blown away. Console players specifically had no better RPG to play at the XB360s launch cycle than Oblivion. That's why it got so popular.

    I'm hoping it'll return in future DLC, or as a mod.

  • @Elwood770 but daggerfall is a city, and oblivion is a realm both used as main settings
