@CloverstarLatias I never took the ending the same way as randomaccountname27, it always seemed to me that Dr. Horrible has gotten everything he thought he ever wanted, but now he realizes it means absolutely nothing to him because he lost the only thing that actually really did matter- Penny.

It can definitely go either way though and I'm curious to see what they do in the sequel.

the way i interpret the film is that, in the beging billy made up dr. horrible to make himself seem cooler, and thats why he says "Jonny snow is not my nemesis, captain hammer is Jonny snow is captain hammer,but as captain hammer gets the girl, billy begins to loose it,he becomes dr. horrible, as a way to cope but things dont get better he goes out with a gun and tries to kill captain hammer but he knows he cant actually do it. in the end, he just wants to be billy,
