If I recall correctly Fitzgerald only got it because of Rosty's corruption at the time.

Fitzgerald sort of slipped in when the Dems weren't looking.

Peter Fitzgerald was one of the most HONEST Senators Illinois has had in recent memory. Of course he was HATED and SHUNNED by both the corrupt Dems AND RINOS here in Illinois.

A TRUE man of integrity. Of course they made his life HELL.

@NWsubmom Your recollection is correct. Some also believe that Obama campaign staff were also involved in getting the records unsealed. What was really upsetting though, is that the Tribune was poised to endorse Jack Ryan, and it chose to publish all of that private information that no one can confirm.

Jack Ryan has been making appearances lately on TV, and at New Trier GOP events which I attend. I had hoped he would run this year, but maybe he's going to take on someone in 2016.?

Wasn't it handsome Republican Jack Ryan that was running against Obama for the Il. State Senate and then the Chicago Tribune got access to his divorce records about the strip clubs and such so he ended up dropping OUT?

My 50 yrs plus is screwing with my memory. lol

@NWsubmom I think his election had more to do with disapproval with incumbent Carol Mosley Braun. She had all those personal issues, as well as foreign policy issues, that led to charges of her being unAmerican. She now lives in Atlanta, GA. Senator Fitzgerald now lives in McLean, VA.

@NWsubmom I have followed IL politics like some follow baseball. Living down state and understanding that the rules in Illinois are unlike anywhere else it is no wounder the tea party is alive and spreading like a prairie grass fire. The people are tired of insider, same old deal, crook county rules. I think both party's in Il have to be worried. South of rt 80 they are not going to tolerate this crap any more, and they are organized!  I agree with you about mr. Brady. I hope so!

I was glad to see Bill Brady sort of accidentally become the GOP GOV nominee here.

It remains to be seen if he can win.

If Tony Perica's election could be stolen by the DEMS,,,I wouldn't be surprised by MORE Pat Quinn.

Let's see, Obamacare happened because the sun got in their eyes and the GM/Chrysler bailouts because they missed the bus and I expect amnesty for illegal aliens will happen because their alarm didn't go off. "We're the democrat party and we can't even bother to come up with a decent excuse."
