The M-Zee Band's "Dr. Rhythm" is one of the most consistent Funk albums of 1981 and with the best cover image as well! This record is solid gold, I could have picked almost any track, but I have chosen the top three for my channel.
The M-Zee band were:
Michael Zager: Keyboards & synthesizer
Jolyon Skinner: Bass, lead & background vocals
Michael Campbell: Guitars
Alfred Adams, Jr. : Drums
Alvin Fields: Background vocals
Guests:
Jimmy Maelen: percussion
Wayne Cooper: Background vocals
Eltesa Weathersby: Nurse Git Down
Jebadiah, Wiff, Rick Rock, Wrong Way Weathersby, Sir Fig Newton, A Capella Angelina, Ambassador Orlando Charisma & Rock'n'Roll Bob : Hand claps.
Pete Canarozzi: Synhezier Programmer
There's an excellent bio/interview with Michael Zager here:

I have not been able to find a decent bio on Jolyon Skinner, the guy who plays bass and sings lead on this record. He is truly an unsung hero, having written, produced and played on numerous recordings, including Fantasy, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Billy Ocean, Ruby Turner, Millie Jackson, Keith Washington, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, well, the list of hit records that he has had a hand in is very long:

@drj350 Yes, I think so too! I have heard that it is out on CD, but not what the quality is like. The audio on the LP is fantastic, the M-Zee Band has access to a great studio and those who engineered and mastered it were good at what they did.
