Mike Olson was formerly CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Mike spent two years at Oracle Corporation as Vice President for Embedded Technologies after Oracle's acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. Prior to joining Sleepycat, Mike held technical and business positions at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra Information Technologies and Informix Software. Mike has Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.

  • It happens to me that I just discover this guy few days ago on Youtube in an all but mind boggling interview in 2009 about Hadoop related to Big Data.Guess what I went through this talk again,over the 2 weeks, then ended browsing the web about the topic, which turns out to be life changing. Mike is without any doubt one of the most smart guys I've got to hear for years. He could have been some whom I might knew, all stuffs around would have taken another fate.
