Personally, I tend to think that leadership is less developed than inherent. I served 21 years in the military and saw the gamut, from inspirational to pathetic. All the "leaders" I saw, met and served under had the same training, yet some could lead, some could barely maintain the status quo, and a few couldn't manage to get out of their own way.
