if you were taking a picture of someone who is on the last row of the room for example, a typical face detection camera will focus on the face in the foreground. But with this, it will prioritize the focus of your subject even if he is way in the back. Like in a recital or big group picture
Nice try Panasonic, should get better with time and research. But what is the point of seeing peoples names in the viewfinder? Is there any other functionality of this feature?
Yes, it prioritizes these faces and keeps them in focus, even when shooting video. It also tagges the pictures with the names. It's a pity though that it's not more accurate.
ANY camera with face detection prioritizes faces and keeps them in focus. The thing is... Why would I want to know who they are? I already know them! I think it's useless. Better download the pics and then tag their faces manually in Picasa o Windows Live Photo Gallery.
