Forrest himself said the show was interfering with his own training. He wanted to quit in the middle of the filming but the UFC wanted him to stay.
In addition to more intense training in the months and weeks leading up to a fight, a professional fighter should be training consistently multiple times per week throughout the entire year.
(Except during thing like vacations for a week at a time or so.)
If a fighter has to coach it interferes with his own regular, long-term training.

The show doesn't even air until it's completely finished being edited & all.
The coaches AND the winning contestants have months to train. Trust me.

i lived with him in South Carolina at Ft. Jackson.
The problem with the way this show is set up is this:
The UFC gets the coaches to fight each other after the show ends.
So the coaches ought to be training for their own fights but at the same time they've got the show to worry about and properly coaching all the contestants.
So someone has to suffer.. either the new trainees or the coaches training for their own fight.
