This is a demonstration of the bind process with a Spektrum DX 5e and an AR500 receiver. Binding is an easy 2 step process. Simply attach the bind plug in the battery channel of the receiver and power it up. The LED inside will start to blink, letting you know that it's in bind mode. Then hold the trainer switch on the transmitter while you turn it on. The transmitter will also start blinking. The bind process takes a few seconds. Once the light on the receiver goes solid, the transmitter and receiver are bound. This process works even if you have all your components plugged into the receiver. The procedure is the same no matter which Spektrum receiver you're using, for example, an AR6110. You can bind multiple receivers to one transmitter, but not the other way around. The DX6i, another popular Spektrum transmitter, also follows this same bind method. Once you're bound, you're ready to go!

  • Any of the other channels can be used for battery input, all the + and - pins are connected, so it doesn't matter where you plug the battery in.

  • @gewizz2 wait, you said tx. Some transmitters will be able to handle 3s, but again, most won't. The DX5e and DX6i both take 4 AAs, or ~6V. Doubling that with a 3S lipo is going to make the radio a bit unhappy.

  • @gewizz2 A 2S lipo would be fine, but Spektrum says "Voltage Range:Input: 3.5–9.6V" A 3S lipo is 11.1V, fully charged it's 12.6V, quite a bit higher than 9.6V. But if you want to run your receivers on 3s, go right ahead.

  • @wowImRetarded ...well are u aware that alot of people use a lipo in their tx and use 3s lipo to do so.

  • @gewizz2 nope. you'll fry it.

  • can u use a 3s lipo to power it?

  • if you use the bind plug for the battery channel then how do you power it up

  • @Nomoreidsleft

    sure!

but flying them can be quite difficult

  • hi mate i have lost my bind plug wondering if i bought a new will still bing to my dx6i

  • If you bind two helis to one transmitter can you fly them in formation?
