On August 31, 2006, at 6:30 pm, tune in to watch a live Webcast from Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital about a procedure for removing a fourth ventricular brain tumor.
Dr. Alan R. Cohen, Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery, demonstrates the microsurgical resection of a fourth ventricular brain tumor in a 6-year-old girl. The procedure is carried out through a midline posterior fossa craniotomy with the patient under general endotracheal anesthesia in the prone position. Posterior fossa tumors are the most common brain tumors of childhood, and the extent of surgical resection correlates strongly with long-term survival.
@chonkiiee08 I think it takes about 9 years.? Don't quote me on that.
