Based up Elmer Verburg's plans this model was increased in size to 150% and additional detail added for authenticity. Further info at http://start-model-engineering.co.uk
The home made compressor works OK and I have had no problems with overheating with the 'fridge pump. The volume of air (not pressure) is insufficient for the continuous running for all but the smallest engines. If I was building another I would try to find a pump from an industrial 'fridge.

Thanks Jim. Increasing the engine to 150% in size did open up the possibility of adding further detail. That, combined with the overall size makes for a more satisfying project it even sounds nicer !
Very nice work , the engine is very smooth. I will also like to hear about your home made compressor which is equally interesting, do you have overheating problems with the fridge compressor on top of the tank?
