Why do they have their make-up in a refrigerator?

I know they're just people in costumes and make up but when I see these performers all dressed up, I can't help but think I'm stumbled on another race.

@AlmightyBungholio9 the artists all have specific designs for their makeup custom made by the artist, they apply it every day before the show and it can take from 45 minutes to over and hour

so do the actors do there own makeup or do they have someone do it for them each day...also do they stay in makeup all day or redo it, touch up during the day?
