he seems a little bit socially awkward

Its great to see Scorsese talking about the great Powell and Pressburger, so often ignored and overlooked, despite reigning supreme when it comes to sheer fantasy and imagination. Some of their films I often wondered if there were really made or I simply dreamt them such is the power of their suggestion

Inspiring.

The Red Shoes is so bold!

Fascinating choices for favorite films while he was so young! Obviously he had unusual observational kills and taste even as a kid. Though many of these films are recognized as classics and influential now, some are overlooked for style yet he learned from them. He found something he truly liked to study and work at for life, also not typical for many people. All great directors are influenced by previous images, etc... we are lucky Marty has humbly shown us the way.

Wonderful the way the subliminal influences of his childhood found their way into his films
