Cheers for confirming. These pop ballads often come in the most incredible, but lovely awesome sounding keys, e.g. "Without You", M.Carey in F#maj(6#). Just sounds so much grander but they edit the sheet music mostly with 1b or 1# only, as not to scare buyers off. I remember that as a beginner I would be awestruck/shellshocked at first by, say, 6b or 6#, but in time transposing pays off by giving you a much grander, elegic sound.

I've been trying to work out this song on the piano for the last few days. So you do it in Em and I see that Mireille Matthieu (best version, I think) sings it in Am. Sorry, I can't read music.

Is it just me or is the original Barbra Streisand sung version really in e-flat minor (6b)? - have they recorded it in e-minor (0b, 0#) and tuned it down a half step in the recording studio to make sound grander? Good luck to anyone practising the intro in e-flat minor, though. LOL

Yes, I think you are right.....this is one of those I made for my students years ago....so maybe I changed the key to make it easier.
