I am well old enough to remember how life was before the internet. That was the time when I was isolated. The time when no-one checked to see if I was OK, if I had food, if I had a story to tell. I have a disability that interferes with communication they way all you "normal" people find easy. I become invisible, unanswerable. On the internet, I can speak to people. Freely trade ideas and have a full life. DON'T accept that "unplugged" is the best way for ALL of US to be. It isn't.

Seriously dude..that is your opinion, fine.

But even if you don't see it, this is what is happening!

For example, when someone invites a friend over and they are both on their iPads, Computers or iPhones sitting in the living room the WHOLE time on social media or other online things and continue doing this as they grow up without any real interactions....It does start to cause a certain level of non-relating and that is just one of the causes of shitty/awkward people. That is not living life!

i'm an extremely private person so i don't have twitter, facebook..etc but I do spend alot of time on my phone and in my own little world. My phone recently died and I realized how way too attached i'd become to it. It's been a week and I haven't gotten it fixed because I feel like I'm getting a break from it. The internet and phones are useful in many ways but people have become way too dependent on the social networking aspect of it but at the same time, it's obviously what companies WANT.

I watched this video probably 12 times in the last 2 days.

Firstly, many people are telling him to get a job... He has a laptop, a cell phone, and a home. He gets rid of his phone and FB account and now he is incapable of working? Is he employed? I don't know, but neither do you.

Second, if you think technology isn't taking over, look around. I think virtual relationships make relationships less intimate. When was the last time you wrote a letter, or hung out, with the intent of just talking?

I adopted to the changing tech by embracing it but I also like doing things offline. I do agree he's going a little far calling what he did Amish but it doesn't negate some of the younger generation needs to unplug now and then, turn off their phone or leave it at home and go to a park for a day, stop texting when they are hanging out with friends. And the comment that started this was you saying have fun being jobless and homeless, living life without abusing tech does not lead to that.

If you walk around in public almost anywhere all you see is people on their phones. Obviously we need the internet, but I don't think we need things like facebook or twitter. If you cut off all of your virtual communication like this guy, you would see which of your 1000 "friends" really care enough to make the effort and contact you.

He isn't attacking the internet, he is attacking our lifestyle and a way we choose to make use of the internet.

Chill. Why is it that people aren't able to see the nuance behind the things people do and say? We don't have to always be 100% for or against something. Loved the video and I still love the internet, but I am always the user, not the other way around.
