I have the second game but can't get the first on U.K ps2 ARRRGH!

It's a shame that they never released it there. You could probably buy a used NTSC ps2 on ebay and XS I on ebay cheaply though. Although I wouldn't go so far as to do that. I have all the videos from the game up, trust me you won't miss out on much of the game even if you just see the cut scenes.

Ahhh... I got into the Xenoverse with a XS game as well... and couldn't put it down either XD (it was Episode 3, heard about it on the internet and I was beginning to lose faith in SE/FF. And oh man... XS made me live a strong, mysterious and emotional sci-fi adventure. I spent 80 hours on Ep3, ahah... while it can be finished in 30 h). And then I played Xenogears... it was different, didn't LOVE it right away but now... this flawed masterpiece just keeps fueling my imagination.

Now, I loved Xenosaga and Xenogears... and also FF13 (the MGS series too). I guess interactive movie type games don't bother me much, I play them for the story/characters... but I like having fun and exploring... and I can't say it was those games strong point at all.

Well, of course, it was ahead of its time... but was it really good ? I mean, look at all the criticism/hate that FF13 got for being like Xenosaga(gears), an interactive movie more than a game. Takahashi and Soraya Saga also have changed their mind about how to tell a story in a game (basically, they now think all doesn't need to be in your face and the player should have more freedom in the game... hence Xenoblade I guess).

Maybe games should find some balance.

Well, this is a unique experience (just like XG) so I recommend it of course. Now, this is not a flawless game at all (just like XG)... sooo, you may love the games and excuse their flaws or hate them because the "flaws" are too much for you (and really, those who dislike Xenosaga just because it isn't Xenogears... well, that's just a silly reason).

Episode 2 is known as the "worst" game of the 3... but Episode 1 is nice and Episode 3 is AWE-SOME (and yeah, totally epic) !

Is the XENOSAGA series Episodes 1 2 3 REALLY the most EPIC story ever in all of RPGS?!?! I've seen so many reviews hyping this story as a MASTERPIECE! Should I buy these games to experience the story?!?

@clampfan101 Because of so many things, ranging to the that gamers with less than adequate attention spans panned it due to the cutscenes, to how the sequels were changed, to the time in which they were released. Also, it was definitely ahead of it's time. If it were released now, what with Heavy Rain getting so much acclaim, it'd do better.

I have the first game, haven't gotten very far yet, and I'm already a huge fan! this story is AMAZING!!! why isn't it nearly as famous as it deserves to be???
