  • Thanks for encouraging comments.. :-)

  • SUPERB post. This band just did this single, a BRILLIANT 1965 cover of Motown's Velvelettes 1964 CLASSIC, He Was Really Saying Something, for Polydor, before going to CBS 2 years later and recording just one single for them too, I'm Not The Marrying Kind, written and produced by Rolling Stones bassist, Bill Wyman. This single, The Velvelettes was produced by legendary 60's producer/promoter Robert Stigwood.

  • @merseymain Cheers matey...have heard The Marrying Kind way back.

  • Couldn't find any info on this lot......another band with the same name released She's Gone....a big deal on the Rare Soul scene....no relation (I think)

  • If I'd ever heard this before then it had been totally forgotten ( in favour of the Velvelettes original ). It must have had some airplay as its listed on the Radio Caroline countdowns in October and November 1965 .. peaked at #53 on 7th November 1965. It was seeing it listed that made me look on you-tube to see if it is the same as The Velvelettes song .. which it is of course!!

  • very groovey :)

  • Quality post Shing, more of the same please.
