Larghetto - Tempo giusto - Andante - Allegro

Roy Goodman/Peter Holman
The Parley of Instruments

Capel Bond was an 18th Century English musician born in Gloucester, who worked in Coventry most of his life. This concerto belongs to a set of six published in 1766, which are probably the finest of their kind written by a provincial English composer. He remains virtually undiscovered to this day with only one other published work surviving, a set of six anthems. The picture is of St. Michael's church in Coventry before it was destroyed during the "Coventry Blitz" in 1940.
