Tune in on World Ocean's Day 2012 (June 8) as renowned ocean explorer
Sylvia Earle talks with a team of coral reef scientists working around the
Galápagos Islands. The event, hosted by the Living Oceans Foundation, will
be broadcast live from from the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural
History.
The scientists will be aboard a research vessel, Golden Shadow, in the
Galápagos studying how corals in the area have bounced back from threats
such as temperature changes, acidity, and bleaching events. After
discussing the research over live video chat, Earle will talk about ocean
conservation issues with a panel of youth leaders.
Come listen and participate in the conversation on June 8th starting at
3:30pm EST. We will be streaming live from this page and if you have
questions while watching make sure to send us a tweet!

Awesome tribute and educational time too, what i do not understand is why it is not "Worlds Oceans Week.?" It seems like such a vast thing to do justice to in one day. We have days dedicated to secretaries and mothers and dads . The oceans of the world deserve more than just a day.......

Thanks for the great work all of you do to maintain the biodiversity of our oceans! If only more had been done before to preserve our marine wildlife here in Singapore.

I mean the thumbnail is literally a screen capture from ME2. not even a wallpaper. I'd think the smithsonian would have plenty of photos to use, but a video game? With no relation to what you are talking about? (by the way, no audio, just watching people move posters around)
