The Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara, Ca. May 5th 2009, Cinco De Mayo. Video and pictures of the Jesusita Fire captured approx. 1-2 hours after the start of the fire. Winds were blowing 20-30 MPH. The clips were taking from the Norhtridge Rd. and the top of Ontare Rd. Filmed with my Olympus FE-370 camera. Santa Barbara burning....again.

There were fire breaks but this fire just laughed at them. When you compound steep topography, high winds, low humidities, high temperatures, high fuel, low fuel moisture, 50 foot plus flame lengths, and spot fires a mile ahead of the flame-front then you have a huge problem.

That's why they needed SCWXA. NO red flag warning from NWS but SCWXA did have a fire weather warning out before those winds hit.

carbon taxes what a SCAM..
CARYN wake up i advocate building fireproof homes that one NEVER needs to evacuate NEVER and making all others fire resistant and a real fire department with 747 size water tankers that would put any fire out in hours.
WHAT WE HAVE NOW IS STUPID AND ANYONE INTELLIGENT SHOULD BE INSULTED BY IT.

Wow, hopefully 1000 burn? Clearly you are not one of us that is evacuated. I hope your city goes up in flames and only house burns along with everything dear to you.

Just think of the damage to our ozone.
Better hurry and put those carbon taxes to work. That should really help.
Ya think?

burned houses is good for the economy hopefully 1000 + will burn.
is there any other reason not to build FIREPROOF and have a real fire department ,not a fire watching department? ?????????????
