From Wikipedia:

Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel is a graphic adventure computer game for the Macintosh computer line (Plus, SE, SE/30, II Series, Classic, LC) created by Cyan, Inc.. It was published in 1989 and won the 1990 Mac User award.[citation needed]

Spelunx, Cyan's next title, was made with a similar style of gameplay. In 2007, a new Cosmic Osmo game titled Cosmic Osmos: Hex Isle was released, based loosely on the original's setting but with a more traditional platform game style of gameplay.

  • I can remember sitting in my rented house in Rock Hill, SC in 1990 and playing this game on my Mac SE while my fiance worked on her Master's Thesis.

  • how are you getting this game to play on your computer? i use to love this game as a kid!

  • i have been searching for this game for years

  • I didn't find out about this game until 1995 or 1996 or so when I was in 8th grade killing free time in the computer lab after getting all my work done. The only thing I remembered was dialing the telephone and there was one that looked like a bunch of grapes and a banana... wow! I heard the newer game got discontinued though :(

  • My sister and I loved playing "Rubber Gut" one of those games within the game on Cosmic Osmo in 91'.

  • Note to everyone: this game is available in a bundle on Steam along with Spelunx and the Masterpiece edition of Manhole. Aside from one issue with an animation looping endlessly (the pumpkin that grabs and eats your cursor in one of the cabinets), it runs almost perfectly and is totally worth getting. Total trip from the past and I am seriously impressed with how well they got the emulation working.

  • CRASH LOL

  • Thanks for this, I played this game a lot as a young kid on my Macintosh IIci. Another game I'd love to revisit like this is Shufflepuck Cafe and Dark Castle.

  • I remember this wow it brings me back.

  • I remember this game was fun as hell and I played this in the late 90's not the early 90's

  • My child hood :)
