  • Jeeze, 35 years ago I used to be a motion picture projectionist at one of the theaters on Lincoln road in Miami Beach. "Solo" was one of the short subjects we'd sometimes run before the main feature. I loved it then and it's stood up to time.

Hoover got into some sort of professional trouble years ago when it was discovered some of his action shots in, I think it was Afghanistan, were actually dramatic "re-enactments".

But Solo is still great. Thanks for submitting it.

  • nice one, good too hear that

  • @seesnap groovy man :-)) lol

  • That film changed my life for many years. I took up climbing when I saw it and climbing was "my life" for many years because of that film. I wish that I owned a copy of it. It would be nice if the entire film was posted on UTube.

  • Unfortunately now all they show you is commercials before your movie

  • Amen, whatever happened to this kind of tunesmithery? EH?

  • Fabulous

  • i remember this was played before the main feature in our local cinema in dublin, one of the best short films of all time...go mike hoover..he did the climbing on the clint eastwood movie the eiger sanction

  • I wonder if the trend of showing shorts before a feature will ever come back, I used to love that, especially when it has this solitary atmopshere with these kind of 'my childhood' tunes. Really nostalgic, will check out the rest over the next while. cheers.
