You obviously believe a jockey does not need of posses any tactical qualities, judgment of tempo, balance, bravery, dedication, motivation, strength. Forget how dangerous a sport it is, forget he starves himself. How many sportspersons go out and compete hungry and severely dehydrated before they start? Do you know what gets a jockey through these situations I will tell you adrenalin and a desire to win. Formula 1 is about the vehicle not the driver.

  • what is the song when

    jessica ennis come to stage

  • @fendtman100 at least some people realise how dangerous our sport is and the things we have to do! We start work and finish work when it's dark and get 1/4 off the wages footballers get and all they do is dive onto the ground screaming when another player touches them! I rode 3 horses the other weekend in a point to point and had 3 fallers but I still had to get up and ride another 1 after each fall and still had to drive 3 hours home then get up for work at half 5

  • 2010 winner AP, IRISH JOCKEY,NOT BRITISH

  • 2011 top ten named, 2 irish golfers on it, wtf is wrong with bbc and thinking everyone in NI is british. rory just played for ireland last weekend. the IRA live in NI ,i bet the bbc dont say they are from the UK

  • Amy Williams should have won it, she was the only one to win a gold medal on a global scale in an actual sport (Darts never has and never will be a sport).

  • Fine. Any sports person deserves what they get out of their chosen profession. Many are grossly over paid but that is a totally different argument however. These animals are bred to run and live a privileged life and again this is a totally different argument. Many comments are made regarding horses used in racing involving the use of the whip normally very misplaced and without knowledge.

  • @bahboro you are recognising challenges that meet the jockey, but make up an opinion about other sports without knowing much about them and what challenges the competitors face

  • @tamithomas You're entitled to your view and I disagree with you.

  • i don't mean to offend anyone in any means because this just my opinion but anyone who uses animals for a sport does not deserve a trophy of any kind.

  • @pinnochio007 i agree but atleast he was nominated in the first place, it means big times for the darting community! darts is slowly but surely starting to maybe finally being seen as a sport and not just a pub game :D
