5 rounds for time: 2 8' hands only rope climbs/5 ROM HSPU. 9:30 time. 1.5" diameter rope attached to TAPS bar; I have to keep my legs bent so I don't hit the uprights. All climbs start and end in sitting position and end with hand or head touching ceiling...this is the way I climb rope in the apartment when the WOD wants a 15' rope climb. Unexpected guest appearance by Mini the Cat at 5:45.

  • Righteous Deadstop Diane in under 10 minutes will be yours if you keep working on these ROM handstand pushups. How many of these handstand pushups can you do fresh?

  • Hi CrossFitFan,

I've done 9 consecutive when fresh in the past; I have no idea what I can do now.

    Thank you.

  • Amazing ROM on those HSPUs!

  • wow that is really good. i have been doing crossfit here in Canada for 7 months. Love it!!!!

  • I always see your comments on the main page, I had to check you out for myself. I am convinced, you are a firebreather. Your HSPUs are phenomenal. I also love your gym!!! Great work, keep it up.

  • compliments! but if somebody opens the door? auhuah

  • Thanks Argos,

The rope set up isn't ideal, but it works. I have to be careful not to crack my knees on the uprights. It works well enough that I can climb the 20+' rope at the Monkey Bar Gym multiple times without any problems.

I do use chalk when climbing and sometimes wear leather gloves and chalk those when my hands are close to tearing. I don't need to suffer from another staph infection from a skin tear!

  • Very creative set up for the rope. Tuesday I will be getting my proper rope and will give this workout a go from time to time. My HSPU need some work though and are by far not as impressive as yours :-) Do you like to use chalk when climbing rope? Personally I find it a lot easier when I do.
