The Georgian army launched an attack against Tskhinvali, capital of South Ossetia, a Georgian region de facto independent since 1992. The next day, Russia reacted in support of the Ossetian people.

  • I love the guy complaining how Russia gave up all those lands it once controlled [they were acquired by theft, of course], and that now the world expectet it to give up [its interest in theft from others] once again... but then with this war they finally stopped running away and asserted themselves [by stealing again] as a force to be reckoned with [for very small countries].
