In actuality, Steve Schwaid was the root of the issues leading to Johnny B. leaving WCAU (the so-called "Storm of the Century"). After Dennis Swanson, a former WNBC-TV GM became a CBS VP, he got Bolaris the gig at WCBS-TV in NYC, and event got Kathy Orr, who was on maternity leave at the time, the Chief Meteorologist gig at CBS-3, at the same time, luring Marc Howard from Channel 6. Johnny B. coming back to Philly on FOX 29 is a black eye to both WCBS-TV and WCAU.
