Having lovely nostalgic feelings right now, my parent's used to play this all the time in the car =]

One of Boros top three exports, along with Brian Clough & "The Parmo". Put them in your own order

@ RichardLaarge... sorry mate but as far as I am concerned you missed the point totally... It is rather the other way around... The lyrics imply that one must not think that one is the best thing since sliced bread... It is rather a lesson on humility... "just keep your head down, don't listen what your ego will say"... Great song really...

@walkertongdee pretty sure he's telling you to stand up for yourself. Its not a literature lesson, Rea is saying "Don't think anyone is ever better than you". People with "Too Much Pride", and all that. Its a cool song and I think he's singing more of an instruction.
Either way, awesome song. I love Chris Rea.

This is one of my favourite Chris Rea songs, especially guitar-wise. Id give anything to get a instrumental version of this, just to be able to try to learn the guitar parts. Even the rythm guitar track is absolutely smashing.

You're right Walkertongdee... when you use a double negative it becomes a 'positive'. Who cares...he's one hot man! Love his singing. Wonderful voice.
