  • When exactly does this come into effect?

  • @habitatryder I believe it's pretty much immediate...

  • This provision change is one of the best things Obama has done. The thing about the loan payments being capped based on your income is the best part of it.

A student starting a career likely isn't going to be well-off financially, so this is a HUGE step to saving MILLIONS of American families a LOT of money!!!

    5 star rating again!

  • STUDENT LOAN BUBBLE!!! SOCIALISTS are creating a bubble which will burst and allow them the political will to create UNIVERSAL "free...lol" EDUCATION out of the confused and pissed of USA students.

  • more government control. less freedom for the American citizen. Can you show me how this program - now in effect for a year and a half - has helped anyone? Do you have any numbers to support the theory that this was a good idea? I think you're drinking the Kool-aid. anytime government gets involved - they steal the taxpayers money. it will happen to our students too. this is just another power grab.

  • the only reason this is controversial is because the PIGS sally mae and freddy mac wont be sucking the blood out of the students' veins anymore, like they used to
