Hutch Hutchinson (Bonnie Raitt) playing a New Prototype Solid Body UBass soon to be released by Kala Brand Music. Kala's new solid body UBass is being made in Petaluma, California and should be available at the end of Q2, 2011.

  • @JXPEEJ Mi-Si pickup system does not use batteries, 60 second charge and it plays for about 8 hours.

  • @bluesdog88 no way. the bridge and tuning pegs probably couldnt stand the tension. it was made for rubber strings. plus it would probably sound like garbage if it did work anyway.

  • Sorry too long winded. The frets are very unforgiving without impeccable technique. I put my videos up because i want to spread the word that these can sound great and are totally viable in many situations if you play it right. Just my opinion.

    Now being the proud owner of a fretless hollow body and now a solidbody fretted and having used them on dozens of gigs i need to chime in. You are all correct that on youtube these do not generally sound good. I mean no offense to any of the wonderful people demoing these on youtube for the rest of us who can't put hands on.
