The openings are irrelevant. Bobby was NOT kasparov, Kasparov Dominated for over 15 YEARS. Bobby never even played as champion. Thats like saying if i used all of kasparov's openings i'd be able to beat karpov. That is ridiculous.

Kasparov is the best of all time. Over 15 years as world champion and 20 years as No.1 rank player.When 2700 rated player still rare in 90's, Kasparov rating already 2800,and it means he won more games and tourney than any other players.And defending a title is more harder than when u get it for the first time because ur opponent try harder and harder. Kasparov is the best and most complete champion. Mentally strong and technically the best,meanwhile Fischer still untested at defending his title

Fischer should have played Karpov. It was his job. They would have given him record endorsement deals in the millions If he would have defeated Kapov but he was a chicken bawk bawk.

Since my comment is in regards to an individual saying that he believes Fischer would be Karpov because Fischer beat somebody who uses some of his openings. That is irrelevant, and inaccurate. If you don't agree with that I don't know what you're talking about, but clearly you've misunderstood my comment. And no, I mean he never played as champion, because he didn't defend his title.

@VikingII Bobby always played as a champion you fool. Don't post if you have absolutely no clue about what you're talking about. Fischer's understanding of chess was so far ahead of his competition at one point before getting his title such that he could hardly be compared to other world champions.

fischer 73% win percantage , kasparov 69% , and Karpov 64%

fischer only played 213 games, kasparove played 3000, and so did karpov .

I am a Karpov fan too, but Fischer utterly dominated his peers--he is not overrated.

true, but Kasparovs brilliance does not make Fischers accomplishments lesser in any way.
