***SHOW YOUR SUPPORT NAIRNITES -- ADD THIS CLIP TO YOUR FACEBOOK PAGE!***

I was sitting at home in Auckland, New Zealand, feeling rather homesick, stumming away on my guitar, playing the Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen and it came upon to me to write a tune about Nairn (my hometown). So here it is!

This is a demo version, recorded in my bedroom played badly -- a diamond in the rough. However, I have plans...

...To have the whole thing re-recorded in Nairn, by Nairn folk. Making it a community effort to have a Nairn song to sing along to, to be used in the promotion of Nairn.

My brother George is a very talented musician who has signed up to play and record most of the instruments professionally, he has roped in a Nairn local to play the accordian (name to come) and in an ideal world I'd love the Nairn Pipeband to play the 'break'. Doing the vocals I have my father, John 'Scoobie' Sutherland who is a local legend -- with a professional singing career of 40 years under his belt.

Help us record this properly and make it Nairns anthem... for Nairnites at home, and from the farthest out-reaches of the globe.

Cheers,
John Sutherland
