It would look to me like that!... the longer the coil the more radiant energy should be but I think it would be important to continue the coil (higher spool)and not return backwards to make a second layer of wire. I think that may reduce the effect. More testing will confirm all this.

no ice we had ice like 1 inch of it with 20 cm of snow .nice vid.
Luc the heat is because your coil winding is short measure the resistance of the new and old coil you will see the difference .

yes! no ice, all snow. That was also my thought, the coil is only 1.1 ohms compared to 48 ohms with the small one from the shaded pole motor.
I need to get a spool of mag wire.
