How do you respond to your own sin? The best way is to confess of it to God and the people you have sinned against and to put it to death. There are also a lot of sinful responses to our sin: we like to divert attention from our sin, shift the blame to someone or something else, get emotional, etc. Pastor Mark Driscoll looks at a few examples of sinful responses to sin in this clip taken from Doctrine - What Christians Should Believe. • This is legit.

  • Well said. A much used excuse not discussed here though is that satan is trying to condemn you regarding your sin and we should tell him to get behind us.

And what are the consequences of doing these things?

Many people who believe in OSAS and eternal salvation will argue that no excuse is even needed since we cannot out sin God's grace. So what does it matter what excuse is used as no excuse is needed?

These are not my thoughts by the way, but the arguements of many who preach OSAS.

  • I've been rejected by a buddy because we keep butting heads. Basically, he practices ALL of these except #10 and the hard-core-mercy version of blame shifting. The example quotes are different, but the concepts apply. e.g. #8 = "It's just who I am." He's uber heavy on #9. It's been very painful.

  • Proof You Were Never Born A Sinner!

  • lol..i heard all these before!

  • @Pharaoh481 Care to elaborate?
