  • Fuckin hell pal, am diggin these. I dunno what the friggin debate is on this page about chords and shit, that was great. I've seen Weller more times than I can remember and he hits his fair share of bum chords, you don't have to be a musician to spot them, but that makes live music all the more fuckin thrilling. I couldn't give a fuck if it's an E, F, G or a fuckin 1-2-3, as long as it sounds good and it connects then who gives a fuck? I'd like to see you do Man of Great Promise! Cheers pal.

  • @cuntbollockswank Thanks mate! Yeh I've often thought about doing Man Of Great Promise it's a top class song. Maybe one day hah.

  • Nice cover. And as for the chord debate, after the D is Gmaj7 xx5432 and then G. Ive saw Weller play this live and its definitely, 100% Gmaj7. Great version though. :)

  • Thanks man :) I figured the only other chord that would fit was a Gmaj7. I'm just so used to doing a D7 now. Cheers for the comment.

  • lol :) just try it mate

  • I did and it doesn't sound right. But that's beside the point, you play it your way I play it mine, it doesn't really matter in the end as I'm not doing note for note copies, just my version of songs I like. I've played Country that way since '94 so I'm not going to change it now :P

  • Nice cover mate,i to play this and do a version of my own unlike wellers, thats called being creative, good on you mate, play it how you want it sound great.

  • cool song Paul

  • this is really nice, your feel and voice are so sincere

  • good job mate maybe d tune your low e string

  • I am confused........ where is there any critisism in my comment? I am just posting my opinion and how I beleive the song is actually played. As far as not posting any videos of myself. What does that have to do with my earlier comments? I may do if I choose to but probably not. I have nothing to prove. I was merely trying to add something constructive to the comments page.

  • How can you debate, criticize or even try to mentor how a song is suppose to be played when you yourself don't have a single song you can say you played yourself (your channel is bare). What are you, a passive or an active critic?

  • Which part of the song are you debating? Is it at the start of the verses? If so I can settle this 100% The book you mention, if its the same I have its for piano. There was never a guitar tab and notation version ever made. This makes the Wildwood book slightly misleading as far as using it for guitar. The chord after the D at the start is a D5, before going back to D and Dsus4 etc...
