Words are more than just symbols- they have meaning and our use of them affects the way we think. Thought control in often restricts or redefines commonly used words to limit communication from people outside the group- hence cults tend to invent a language only used within the cult.

I'm sure you're sincere when you say that L Ron described what the human mind it, however, I, like many others do not believe L Ron had the answers, he also took alot from early psychology aberration therapy.
