  • Why do you play all the at the end of the bow? I'm just learning so I'm nto one to question your playing style. I was just told to keep it mainly just below the middle at the balance point. It seems hard the way you played.

  • It's weird, I've got no good answer for that. It just kind of worked out that way for me. Probably a self taught thing I guess.

  • The fact that you're self taught just makes this even better :)

and I mean no offense (I say that since many people think being blamed for being (or actually being) self taught is a disgrace, I think it's a blessing.

Teaching yourself to play an instrument, is first of all harder, and will most likely end up in the musician having a very unique sound (which you do).

Though I will quickly add that some self taought musicians doesn't sound that well.

But you are a Hendrix on that violin ^^

  • Damn it! I thought I was doing pretty good with this reel until I herd you! Nice job! I'll get back to practicing....

  • man your really good and faster than me byx1000

  • @pigeatinginfidel

if you play fast you automatically play at the end of the bow. that's why the irish sometimes grab the bow not at the frog but somewhere higher. has something to do with the weight....but in classical use you should be able to play fast everywhere; this way you get the different bowing techniques (spiccato, detache, martellato, etc)

  • i like this wayy better on the fiddle then the whistle
