Jesus dying on the cross was not the only part of it. there was the Death, Burial and Ressurection. While He was in hell, He took the keys to death, hell and the grave. That was the basis for writing this song. However, It was actually completed when He rose on the third day, according to the scriptures. So many people forget the most important part of it, rose on the third day. Without the ressurection the prophesy would not be complete, therefore we would not be serving a living Savior.
