@BOOM7STAR I got your comment via email before it was removed. Not sure what you meant, but if you meant to say that the athletes in the other sports you mentioned, train as hard for that once a year event.... I get it!!! I always feel sorry for the runners up... All the Blood, Sweat and Tears.... All the pain and training, the sacrifices to obtain a goal... Anyone who puts that much effort into something they love to do, is a winner in my books....
Keep on keepin' on.

There is no other side of gymnastics. The sport of gymnastics involves everything seen in this video. Even the stretching images from China, while difficult to watch, are not harmful. The coaches have done their job for many years and know how to make the gymnasts as flexible, strong, and tough as they will need to be.

Shall I make a montage of any other high requirement competitive sport during training and combine it with slow music and slowed scenes to make it look dramatic and bad? Shall I make mention of how many things have gone wrong during those exercises?
This is no worse.

Of course gymnastics at a competitive level is not going to be easy! My daughter is 7 years old and started gymnastics when she was 3 years old. She is on the competition team at her gym and just finished her level 3 season. She practices 3 days a week for 3 hours at a time and loves it! In fact even with all the conditioning and hard training she is still bugging me to let her go 4 or 5 days a week. Some children have a drive for the sport, not all are forced.

Years ago I saw Shannon Miller muff a routine and start crying.... What a little princess I thought... She repeated this uncontrolled emotional behavior several times on national TV... I wondered why... After a little research, I realized a serious gymnast trains harder than any athlete on the planet!!!.... bar none!!!!
No football or hockey player practices 6 days a week for 6 hours. Okay Jerry Rice is an exception.... In one 3 min. routine, a step on a landing can del. a yr. of hard work.
The worst are the Chineses. They get trained almost from birth to do the olympics. It's batshit crazy.
