Firefighters had their hands full fighting this basement fire rapidly extending on Henry St on Jan 16, 09. Watch the 1st lines enter. With temperatures in the single digits and no hydrants, a 2nd alarm was quickly sounded bringing in 8 towns to fight this fire that eventually forced all firefighters to evacuate the building due to heavy fire conditions on all floors and eventually thru the roof.

  • The fire, which started in the basement, was spreading into the 2nd fl/attic when the FD arrived. The stairwells were burnt out. The house was lost before they got on scene.

The chief made a good call evacuating everyone.

  • Was there a firefighter down.... Just wondering because of the PASS alarms going off??

  • It's not about being defeated it was an empty building. Everyone made it out and you are only seeing two minutes. The right decision was made and everyone went home safe!
