I admire the courage of this man. The decision to become a composer, when your father is arguably the greatest pure composer that ever lived, knowing that everything you ever wrote would be compared with him, takes more courage than I could ever possibly imagine.

At last I get to listen to a piece by Franz Xaver! Thank you very much!

A romantic vein is noted, may be he knew the John Fiedìld nocturnes

@HerlockSholmes123 - I don't find it that surprising, at least as far as Franz Xaver is concerned, given that he chose the same profession as his father, whose genius cast a gigantic shadow over him. Remember, too, that he was only five months old when Wolfgang died prematurely, so he never had a chance to experience that personality. His mother, Constanza, became more reserved after her husband's death, as she concentrated on quietly preserving his legacy rather than seeking the limelight.

@giangra92 indeed but what a mistake that was !!!!!

@keelan111 Probably mozart (wolfgang) wasn't considered yet in that period as the genius we refer today.

wow..... talent can be inherited

His Brother decided to work for government :D
Although the pressure is great, I am sure that he decided to be a composer because he loved his daddy's music.
DO you have any book that I can read about this guy? It is an interesting subject: How to be the son of the greatest composer on the time, and one of the best of all times.
This song is amazing! Can you upload more material with this guy?

Sorry, this is all i have. It is ripped from an album named The Mozart Family which contains the Toy Symphony and an album for Maria Anna Mozart by Leopold, Amadeus' first noted compositions and this polonaise by Franz Xaver.
Unfortunately Franz Xaver is underrated. Probably both he and his grandfather would be better known if they weren't eclipsed by Wolferl or maybe it was Wolferl who highlighted them even so in the first place.
