Penang a unique city with rich culture and and diverse religious background. Penang was founded by Sir Francis Light in 1786 and was one the three Straits Settlement besides Singapore and Malacca which was established in 1826.Penang also was a major trade port for merchants from western civilizations.Popular with its beach front and delicious food , Penang also is a home to three main religion in the island.
Unsurprisingly with its rich history value Penang was listed as one the world heritage site by UNESCO in 2008.In this edition I will bring you to see one of the oldest mosque in Penang, Kapitan Keling Mosque.
This historic mosque also have been used as the Penang state mosque before the construction of the current state mosque now.This mosque was named after Caudeer Mohudeen. the head of South Indian Muslim community during that era.
