A Gay Mormon Coming Out (live)

Studying at BYU as a closet gay Mormon has been quite an experience. I finally decided to come out and stop living a lie. I'm still, and will forever be, a faithful Mormon. While some gay Mormons still marry someone of the opposite sex, I do not see myself doing this. I will remain celibate and do not plan to marry.

What I like about this video is that the reactions are nothing like the gay activists say.

Was there any hate and rejection? No. But yet the gay activist media will keep pushing this false narrative that religious people "hate" gays. This video exposes that to be a straw dummy.

Now that doesn't somehow make same sex attraction compatible with the biological reality of the body, but what it does do is show that society doesn't "hate" gays any more than they "hate" anorexics.

ARE YOU A GOOD PERSON? Have you ever told a lie? yes or no. Have you ever stolen something? yes or no. SO if God judges you only on 2 of the Ten Commandments will you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? For God said, all liars and thieves cannot enter heaven but will goto hell. Does that concern you at all? I love how you think what you just said explains away the grievous harm the mormon church has done to the lgbt community.

Yes, it doesn't allow sex before marriage whether you are gay or straight. What you didn't mention is that gays aren't allowed marriage in the mormon religion, so mormons are, in fact, condemning gays to a lifetime of celibacy.

Second, you imply being gay is a choice, and betray your childlike understanding of the issue. Your "defense" of the church is laughable.

That doesn't make some of the laws any less morally bankrupt. Some of those laws are just as absurd then as now, and pretending they came from some all knowing god is laughable.

Regardless, if more christians knew that, maybe they wouldn't be one of the most vocal anti-equal rights organizations today.

Y'know, from a religious standpoint, I think he did a great job.

And his friends and family were all very understanding and simply "nice" about it.

He's just going to remain celibate and still follow his faith!

Good for him! Don't let one social issue drag you away from your faith, whatever it may be.

Just to let you know, all of those examples you gave are Old Testament Jewish laws...they never have and never will apply to modern day Christians or anybody of the sort.

(That's why only Jewish people still eat kosher and stuff like that...)
