  • Any ideas on who the woman is sitting next to Queen Elizabeth?

  • @4234123 I am unsure. I thought it might be the Queen Mother's mother, seeing as the King's mother is sitting on the opposite side to Princess Elizabeth. But the Queen Mother's mother died in 1938, so that obviously isn't right. I have no idea, really. A relative of Prince Philip's, perhaps?

  • its prince philips maternal grandmother

  • What a beautiful smile Princess Elizabeth has!

  • a mulher ao lado esquerdo da rainha elizabeth é a mãe do principe philip

  • @reelsarency I think it's Prince Phillip's grandmother, the Marchioness of Milford Haven. She was also Louis Mountbatten's mother. At least it looks like a portrait I've seen of her when she was older.

  • @reelsarency I think you're on the right track. Obviously, one would think the woman sitting to then-Princess Elizabeth's left is Queen Mary, the woman to the right must be of some relationship to Queen Mary. There's a slight resemblance; then again, resemblances can deceive.

  • @4234123 Queen Mary is to Elizabeth's left. To her right, is that Princess Alice of Battenberg (Princess Andrew of Greece, Prince Philip's mother)?

  • @4234123 @ :28? Mary of Teck, queen consort of George V. Died in 1953.

  • @4234123 if you mean at the 0.31 mark it's Queen Mary, Elizabeth II's grandmother and widow of King George V

  • @4234123 This is Prince Philip's grandmother (born Pss Victoria of Hesse & hence the sister of the last Tsarina - she married Prince Louis of Battenberg). She was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, her mother being Pss Alice. Interesting history!

  • @4234123 It's Prince Philip's maternal grandmother the Dowager Marchioness of Milford Haven, who was born Princess Victoria of Hesse and the Rhine. So really she is related to both since Queen Victoria was her grandmother.
