This video shows a small autogyro. To aid stability, it is equipped with a FMA Co-pilot.

  • Nice flying. Are the plans for this availible on the net somewhare?

  • It is bought as a complete kit. Do not know of plans only.

  • How does it handle without the Co Pilot?

  • Fairly well, but the Co-pilot makes it easier when you get it on some distance. Difficult to see the orientation of the autogyro.

  • only 3 channels !!! thats verry nice

  • Great model. I just love the sound of these things. Thanx for the vid.

  • Fantastic idea. I have often wondered about the FMA Co Pilot and the autogyro, I just have never tried it. Great video by the way.

  • Thats a nice flying autogyro. Did you design it yourself, or where did you get the plans?

  • There is no pitch activating directly on the rotor head, it`s just like an airplane: by elevators only. Roll axis is front to aft. Since there is no power transmitted through the rotor, you don`t have the precesion effect you find in choppers. Actually, you shift the weight of the autogyro left/right to make it turn. (Look at the rotor as "stationary"). About the teetering rotor: I don`t know.

  • Hi, I'm new to this. (I am reading about it right now) Does that mean it has a fixed pitch? I mean no collective or cyclic pitch control.

Do you use a D-hub or are the blades hinged? Due to precesion does it mean the roll control axis is from left to right?

Can you explane me what a "teetering rotor" is? (I think it means the blades are hinged?)

  • Thanks! That makes a lot of sense.I may have to invest in one my self. Happy Landings
