Our gifts are for the Lord and the edification of the body. Case and point in the beginning there was only one purpose and intent of music, that was for the Glory of God! Before satans fall. Don't Get me wrong these guys are great and inspiring but the anoiting on the lives and gift was ment for so much more than making money! How do we ask God to sanctify us (set us apart for his use.) Then give his gift to the world. Its time for a new standard!

When so many pastors talk about "playing for the Lord" (i.e. for no pay, and you get to replace the drum heads and sticks out of your own pocket) but yet want to treat you like an employee, it's not really surprising to see musicians taking secular gigs. All the time and energy and money you put into refining your craft to the level that you and they want you to be at, you have to eat and pay rent somehow ...

Musician's can still represent Jesus & play secular music! There's probably more musician's representing Jesus that have secular gigs than some musician's who actually only play church gigs! Think on that! I applaud musician's who can step out the boundaries of religion & make a living at what they love to do!
